Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Tempi collects, why, and your rights. Tempi is an iPhone and Apple Watch app for horse riders.
1. A quick summary
- We collect what Tempi needs to record your rides and run your account. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.
- Health data (heart rate, energy, workouts) and audio from the coach link are sensitive, so we treat them with extra care and only use them to provide the app.
- Your ride data is private to you unless you choose to share a horse with another rider or join a coaching lesson.
2. What we collect and why
Account. Your email, a display name, and your chosen roles (rider, coach, horse owner). To sign you in and run your account. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
Horses. Names, breed, age, notes and photos you add. Stored for you, and shared only with riders you invite. Legal basis: contract.
Rides. Duration, heart rate, energy, GPS track (only when you turn it on), the raw motion sensor data (accelerometer and gyroscope), and any gait and rein labels. Used to record, show and analyse your rides. Heart rate and energy come from Apple Health with your permission. Legal basis: contract; for health data, your explicit consent (see section 4).
Coach link audio. When you join a lesson, live audio is streamed between coach and riders. If a lesson is recorded, the recording is stored for replay. Used only to run the coach link. Legal basis: contract; explicit consent for audio.
Technical and diagnostic data. Basic logs needed to operate and secure the service. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
We do not collect data for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
3. Apple Health (HealthKit)
With your permission, Tempi reads heart rate and energy during a ride and can save rides to Apple Health as equestrian workouts. In line with Apple's rules, we never use Health data for advertising or marketing, never sell it, and only use it to provide the app's features. You can turn Health access off at any time in the iPhone Settings or the Health app.
4. Sensitive (special category) data
Heart rate, energy and audio are sensitive personal data under the GDPR. We process them only with your explicit consent, which you give when you allow the relevant permission and record a ride or join a lesson. You can withdraw consent at any time by turning the permission off and deleting the related data.
5. Who processes data for us
We use these providers strictly to run the app (they are our processors):
- Supabase (database, authentication, file storage) hosts your account, horse and ride data.
- LiveKit (real-time audio) carries the coach link audio.
- Apple (App Store, HealthKit, device services).
We put data processing agreements in place with our providers. Some providers may process data outside your country; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses) are used. [Confirm provider regions and transfer safeguards with your lawyer.]
6. Sharing
Your data is private to you except where you choose to share it: inviting a rider to a horse, or joining or running a lesson. We do not sell data and do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. We may disclose data if required by law.
7. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep some records by law. Rides already saved to Apple Health remain in Apple Health and are controlled by you there.
8. Your rights (GDPR)
You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to certain processing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Contact privacy@tempi.horse. You can also complain to your data protection authority: in Hungary, the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH, naih.hu).
9. Children
Tempi is not intended for children under 16 (the age of digital consent in Hungary). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and row-level security so each person can only reach their own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and update the effective date; significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
